OUR PHOTOGRAPHY SERVICES
We process our photos in-house.
We take pride in doing all our post processing in-house. Many photographers send their photos to underpaid laborers overseas to keep their costs down. We like to maintain control over the quality of the image so that the colors presented are accurate and color casting mainly found on ceilings and floors is removed. We also have fine-tuned our editing to make the photos pop and maintain realism. Some photos on MLS are overprocessed and end up with a fake appearance. Doing our own processing also allows us to maintain consistency of our product from job to job.
Of course, post processing is only as good as the original photo. We take time in the field to determine the appropriate white balance, so our processors have a reference to the colors in the room. The interior shot is then composed so that the angles draw your eye into the space. We consider light disparities and shoot the necessary number of ambient shots to capture all the detail. These shots are later painted together and provide the shadows for the final image. A flash shot is taken which is the foundation of our image because of its accurate colors. If there is a window in the shot, it is exposed for the outside and a flash is used to brighten up the area around the windows. This allows us to apply sharp windows with beautiful, crisp views to the final image. Our exterior shots are taken with three exposures so that darks and lights can be painted into the image where needed to draw your eye into the home. All this takes great skill and a lot of training.
Later in Photoshop, we use AI to remove cars from driveways, cameras from mirrors and other items like a missed dust spot on the floor. AI can also be used to reduce light burnout on floors and ceilings. Masking techniques are used to paint in blue skies, add fire to a fireplace and a screenshot to a television. For high-end listings, architects and designers we can provide some customization to our images. And quite possibly the most incredible feet of all, the multiple shots taken in the field are combined to make one stunning magazine-quality image using hand brushed artistry.
